The new year is here which means companies like Pantone, Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore have all released their colour of the year.
An annual trend founded by Pantone, a colour company, unveiled their first Colour of the Year (COTY) in 2000. Over the last two decades, the company’s group of colour experts are selected from different industries and come their decision after analyzing various design trends from the last year and what they believe will carry over into the following year. Announced by Pantone each December, the winning colour influences both colour and design trends across the globe.
Pantone’s COTY has inspired other companies such as paint suppliers, Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore, to release their own colour of the year that reflect the themes of the year.
