We’re only one month in and we’ve seen some key trends that are taking off!
People want to brighten up their space while making an at-home oasis.
Moving away from some of the traditional aspects, people are ready to take risks and have fun!
1. A pop of colour
2022 is the year of using colour to add your own unique flare to a space. Be it a paint job, a coloured back splash or an accent wall,
incorporating colour may be the final touch a room needs. Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore released their 2022 colour of the year
in January. It’s no surprise that they’ve both chosen a soothing, earthy green tone that’s filled with character. Make use of colours with happy,
positive associations to help create a sense of oasis in your own space.
2. Patterned Pieces
Patterns are making their come back! What used to be a design saved for your grandma’s wallpaper has made a full circle to become a hot new
design trend and a statement art piece in any space. From subtle to bold, illustrated to symmetry, mosaics to spirals – patterns can energize a room
while providing contrast and balance.
3. Accent Walls
While not a new design technique, accent walls are becoming more popular. They’re being used as a way to feature different colours or patterns,
or incorporate that bold marble-look porcelain slab you had in mind – without committing to an entire space. It is a unique way to bring individuality
into a space, tie together the colour schemes, add excitement, or create a focal point that may otherwise be overlooked.
